FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


  • FlySpace Physical Therapy accepts workers’ compensation for performing artists. For all other services, we are out-of-network with insurance plans.

    If you plan to submit to your insurance for reimbursement, we can provide a superbill after your visit.

    • Workers’ compensation patients: No cost for covered visits

    • Cash-based sessions: Contact our front desk for current rates

    If you are 18+ and pursuing a professional career in the performing arts, ask about our discounted performer rates.

    • Workers’ compensation patients: A physician prescription is required.

    • All other patients: Under New York Direct Access law, you may receive PT for up to 10 visits or 30 days (whichever comes first) without a prescription.

    • Initial evaluations: Schedule through our front desk by calling or submitting the booking form here.

    • Follow-up visits: Schedule with your therapist, the front desk, or through our patient portal

  • Cash-pay patients

    • Cancel less than 24 hours: session is forfeited

    • Reschedule within the same week: penalty waived

    Workers’ compensation patients

    • Cancel less than 24 hours: $40 late cancellation fee

    • Reschedule within the same week: fee waived

    Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance incur no charge.

    • Initial evaluations: 60 minutes

    • Pelvic floor follow-ups: 60 minutes

    • Orthopedic follow-ups (out-of-network): 45 minutes

    • Workers’ compensation follow-ups: 30 minutes

    All sessions are one-on-one with a physical therapist. We do not use PT aides, so your care always remains individualized.

  • Your evaluation will include:

    • A detailed conversation about your injury, symptoms, and goals

    • A movement assessment and physical examination

    • A discussion of findings and a personalized treatment plan

    If time allows, treatment may begin during the first session, and you will leave with clear strategies and exercises to support your recovery.

  • This depends on your injury, goals, performance schedule, and stage of recovery.

    Some patients benefit from multiple visits per week, while others attend weekly or biweekly sessions. Your therapist will work with you to create a plan that fits your body, schedule, and performance demands.
