About the event
This interactive, movement-based workshop gives Lindy Hoppers a practical understanding of how to build strength, stability, and resilience for the high-energy demands of swing dancing. Participants will explore the unique physical demands that movements like swivels, Swing Outs, Suzie Qs, and Texas Tommies place on the joints and lower body.
Through guided exercises and movement exploration, dancers will assess their own balance, rotational strength, and mobility while learning strategies to better prepare the body for the dance floor. The session integrates principles of biomechanics, injury prevention, and a brief introduction to the safety requirements for aerials, jumps, and lifts, so participants leave with practical tools they can apply in social dancing, rehearsals, competitions, and performances.
