A Five-Hour In-Person Clinical Intensive
There's only so much you can learn about backstage physical therapy in a classroom. At some point, you have to put your hands on a patient, make decisions, and work through the challenges in real time.
This immersive, in-person experience brings backstage clinical reasoning to life through hands-on scenarios designed to reflect the realities of treating performing artists.
Participants will rotate through practical clinical challenges, applying assessment techniques, treatment strategies, and decision-making skills in a collaborative learning environment.

Conducting focused assessments within realistic backstage time constraints
Applying the backstage clinical reasoning framework to hands-on scenarios
Selecting and delivering efficient, effective treatment interventions
Adapting care to the physical demands of performance, including challenging movement environments
Making and communicating decisions about activity modification and performance participation
Responding to evolving clinical presentations and unexpected challenges

Prerequisite: Completion of Session 3, Backstage Clinical Reasoning: The Framework, is required.

This five-hour, in-person intensive brings the previous coursework into a simulated backstage environment. Participants will rotate through performer scenarios requiring rapid assessment, treatment, communication, and clinical decision-making while receiving real-time feedback and mentorship.
The goal isn’t simply to arrive at the “right” diagnosis. It’s to practice thinking clearly, efficiently, and confidently under backstage pressure.
