About the event
This highly interactive, movement-based workshop gives performing artists a hands-on understanding of how to build resilient, performance-ready ankles. Participants will actively assess their own ankle strength, balance, mobility, and endurance; experience common limitations firsthand; and immediately apply progressive strengthening concepts through guided exercises. The session bridges anatomy, biomechanics, and practical training so attendees leave with tools they can use in rehearsal, training, and performance contexts. Emphasis is placed on sustainable programming that fits the realities of show weeks, rehearsal-heavy periods, and return-to-performance timelines.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Identify common ankle injury patterns in performers by experiencing and observing key movement and stability challenges.
Assess their own ankle capacity using balance, strength, mobility, and endurance self-testing protocols.
Apply performance-specific foot and ankle strengthening strategies through guided practice to improve stability, power, and confidence onstage.
